Publications Realize Green Printing in Five Years

On the “Green Printing” lecture held on Jan. 16, 2011, Mr. Cao Hongsui, Deputy Director-general from the Department of Printing and Distribution Administration of General Administration of Press and Publication of the People’s Republic of China released in his speech that the standards for green printing — National Environmental Protection Standards Printing Part One: Lithographic Printing will be issued and implemented this year. Right now, it has already been submitted to higher authorities for examination and approval. After release, enterprises will certify with the principle of free will, fairness, and justice. In March and April this year, a number of enterprises will be authenticated. As Mr. Cao introduced, from this year, green printing will be carried out for the primary and middle school teaching materials. Enterprises which meet the standards of green printing have to undertake the assignment of printing those materials in an eco-friendly way. It is expected the by the end of 2013, the primary and middle school teaching materials nationwide will all be printed in an eco-friendly way and in five years, green printing will cover all the publications nationwide.
